Find an article online about the Japanese scientists who are trying to drill into Earth's mantle. Please print and read the article. Bring the article to class on Friday--be prepared to give a short summary of the article, should you be called on.

Consider the movie Journey to the Center of the Earth (click for the link to the trailer). Based on the information provided by the trailer, do you think the movie accurately represents Earth's interior (layers/core)? Review the discussion we began about Earth's composition in science today. What scientific evidence presented in class can be used to support your argument?
