Assignment #6 (due 4.11)

Please complete the Tectonic Plate ID Map you received in class today. The online map you should use for reference can be found here: https://www.sciencelearn.org.nz/images/350-tectonic-plate-boundaries. Be sure to include the plate names and boundary types (using arrows), as well as color each plate.

Assignment #5 (due 3.27)

Please begin thinking about your Rock Cycle Tribute Album project. For 3.27, please (1) brainstorm at least 3 ideas for band names and (2) write 3 clarifying questions you have so far about the project. Bring your brainstorm and questions to class on 3.27 (you will have time on Wednesday to begin working on the project with your partner). NOTE: The final deadline for this project has been moved to Wednesday, April 17th.

Also, if you did not have a chance to finish your 5 analysis questions from the Rock Cycle Dice Activity in class today, please do so for 3.27. You do not need to complete the conclusion. Please remember this counts as Assignment #4.

No weekend homework...

...but please be sure to bring your Rock Cycle Dice Activity back to class on Monday for further data analysis. Please remember your in-class responses to Questions 1-5 will count as Assignment #4.

Assignment #20 (due 3.8)

Consider the geology vocabulary you are currently learning. Please write at least one geology-related pun using one of these terms. The cheesier, the better. DO YOUR BEST (OR WORST!).

You are welcome to consult outside sources for geology-related vocabulary we have not yet covered in class (as long as they are legitimate science vocabulary terms). You may also find this online Dictionary of Geology and Earth Science Terms helpful.

REMINDER: Both science sections will meet in Room 4 tomorrow at the beginning of 3rd Period.

Assignment #19 (due 3.7)

Please review the foods/food-like substances you have at home for evidence of rocks and minerals in the ingredient lists. List 5 of these foods in the spaces provided (on the assignment sheet). For each food, list the name and the ingredient that is either a rock or mineral. You can use the “Have you ever eaten a rock?” handout you received in class for help.

Ah...the weekend. Can you dig it?!? You really rocked this week, team! Get some solid rest this weekend. The weather is looking pretty gneiss—don’t take it for granite—go outside and play!
